How can we help?

Adding a New Frame to Inventory

Add individual frames to inventory and classify all unique attributes

Step-by-Step: Adding a Frame and Linking It Properly

Create the new frame record as normal:

  • Go to Inventory > Frames
  • Enter the Model Number/Name
  • Set Retail Price, List/Cost Price, Quantity on Hand, color, size, etc.
  • Fill in any other fields you normally use

Assign the Category (this links the frame to its Collection/brand)

  • Click the Category tab inside the frame record
  • Click Add New
  • The Product ID will auto-generate – do not change it
  • Select the correct Collection from the drop-down list (e.g., Ray-Ban, Oakley, Kate Spade, etc.)
  • Click the Save icon

Assign the Manufacturer

  • Still in the same frame record, click Add in the Manufacturer section
  • The Product ID will auto-generate again – leave it alone
  • Choose the correct Manufacturer from the drop-down (e.g., Luxottica, Marchon, Safilo, etc.)
  • (Recommended) Assign the Vendor – this records who you actually purchased the frame from
  • Click Save

Why This Matters

  • Linking the Collection keeps your frames grouped under the correct brand for displays, sales reports, and marketing.
  • Linking the Manufacturer ensures accurate royalty reporting and manufacturer-specific searches.
  • Adding the Vendor tracks true cost and purchase history – extremely helpful when the same frame can come from multiple sources or when pricing changes between vendors.
